What we believe

STATEMENT OF FAITH

SFCA shall accept the Holy Scriptures as the revealed Will of God, the all sufficient Rule of faith and practice; and for the purpose of maintaining general unity; it shall adopt the statement of Faith as follows:

Trinity:
We believe that there is ONE GOD, eternally existent in three person; Father, Son and Holy Spirit; that the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are never identical as to person, nor confused as to relation, nor divided in respect to the Godhead, nor opposed as to the cooperation.

A.      Father:  We believe God the Father is eternal, omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent. God is absolutely holy, righteous and just. His love and mercy were manifested in the atoning death of His only begotten Son on Calvary.

B.      Son: We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious suffering and atoning death through His shed blood.  His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His personal return in power and glory.

C.      Holy Spirit: We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person; that He convicts the world of sin, of righteous and of judgment; that He is the Supernatural Agent of God in the regeneration of the lost: that he indwells all believers, sealing them in the body of Christ unto the day of redemption; and that He is the divine teacher, who guides believers into all truth.

 The Holy Scriptures:

We believe that the Scriptures(the holy Bible) consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments are verbally inspired by God, inerrant and infallible in their original writings, written under the inspiration of the Holy spirit and it has the supreme and final authority for faith and practice.

The Depravity of Man:

We believe that Man was originally created in the image of God, but that the whole race of man was separated from God in the sin of Adam. Therefore, we believe that no man can reconcile himself with God and gain entrance to His Kingdom unless and until he is born again by the Spirit.

Satan:

We believe that Satan is the author of sin and the cause of the fall of man and that he shall be punished eternally in the lake of fire, which is reserved for the devil and his angels and whosoever is not found written in the Book of Life.

Salvation:

We believe that salvation is the gift of God by grace alone, that it is received through repentance, confession with the mouth, personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and that this faith should be followed by obedient living that pleases God. The inward evidence to the believer of salvation is the direct witness of the spirit. The outward evidence to the believer is a life of righteousness and true holiness.

Heaven and Hell:

We believe in the pre-millennial second coming of Jesus Christ, and in the bodily resurrection of both the just and the unjust. We believe that the living with Christ is the hope of the saved for eternity. The hell is a lake of burning fire with brimstone of literal place that eternal separation from God and the everlasting punishment place for devil and his angels, the beast, the false prophet and those who are unsaved.

The Church:

We believe that the body of Christ is composed of all born again believers those who following His commandments everywhere without respect of race, color and denomination. We believe that the local church is comprised of born again believers who are baptized by immersion in water in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; and who come together for worship in truth and spirit, instruction and Christian service.

Ordinances:

A.      Baptism in water: We believe that baptism in water shall be by immersion in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; and shall be administered only to those who believe and give evidence of being born again. The ordinance of baptism by a burial with Christ should be observed as commanded in the Scripture by all who have really repented and in their hearts have truly believed in Christ as their personal Savior and Lord. In doing so, they declare to the world that they have died with Christ Jesus and that they have also been raised with Him to walk in the newness of life.

B.      The Lord’s Supper: We believe that Lord’s Supper is to be observed by all born again believers who are baptized in water and lead a spiritful holy life.  Each participant should examine himself/herself before partaking. It is the remembrance of our Lord’s sufferings and death and a prophecy of His Second Coming. It is enjoined on all believers and to be observed until He comes.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit:

We believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is a definite experience, subsequent and in addition to His saving work. In being born again of the Spirit, there is an impartation of life, but in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, there is an impartation of power for witnessing. Speaking in other tongues is the initial, physical evidence of having received this endowment of power give utterance and by the subsequent manifestation of spiritual power in public testimony and service. We also believe in the fruits of Spirit and gifts of Spirit.

Holiness:

We believe that the Holy Bible teaches a life of holiness “without which no man shall see the Lord”. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we are able to obey the command, “Be ye holy, for I am holy”. Entire sanctification is the will of God for all believers and should be earnestly pursued by walking in obedience to the Word of God.

Divine Healing:

We believe that Divine Healing and deliverance from sickness in provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers.

 The Blessed Hope:

We believe that the pre-millennial Second Coming of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their transformation, together with those who are alive and remain unto the Coming of the Lord, is imminent and is the blessed hope of the Church.
